Surrounded by the other animals of the magic show and the wacky magicians themselves, parents Larry (Goodman) and Kate (Hines) struggle to raise their children in a stable environment. Despite the cuddly animated characters, many of the jokes on the show were firmly aimed towards an adult audience, generating the possibility of enjoyment for all ages, much like the same studio's SHREK films.
